## Simplifying the Build

The 2025 redesign was a step forward, but as I looked at the site recently, I realized it needed to be stripped back. For 2026, the entire focus is on simplifying both the design and the build so the actual work can take center stage.

I wanted a setup that gets out of its own way. Whether you are looking at a case study on a phone or reading on a large desktop monitor, the experience needs to be seamless. The design should frame the work, not distract from it.

This is exactly why I decided to rebuild the site using Sanity.

## A Cleaner Foundation

Moving to a headless CMS might sound like adding complexity, but for this project, it was about stripping things down to the essentials.

Using Sanity allows me to separate the content from the presentation. I no longer have to fight with rigid templates or bloated code just to get a layout looking right. I can build a clean, minimal front end that scales perfectly across all devices.

## Letting the Work Breathe

When I am sharing projects or writing about search strategies, the focus needs to be on the details. A cluttered site makes that impossible.

With this new architecture, I have complete control over every pixel and breakpoint. The typography sits exactly how I want it, the load times are fast, and the interface is incredibly responsive. It means the work is always the focal point, no matter how someone is viewing the site.

This refresh is a real starting point for 2026. It gives me a simplified, rock-solid platform that looks great everywhere and is actually a joy to maintain.
